Pretty much every GM has been in this situation. Whether you are playing in your favorite published setting or in your lovingly crafted homebrew world, the world can seem stale after a few campaigns. Players know the characters, the problems, and the status quo.
Year Zero World Building creates campaign settings using Free League’s RPGs. This month covers an adventure set in Middle-earth using The One Ring Second Edition. As a follow-up to last month’s column on vampires, here is a lair of vampires that Player-heroes may need to face to rescue prisoners or claim a magic treasure after a harrowing Journey and necessary Council.
Welcome to Charisma Saves, a column devoted to the “RP” in RPG. Players should be competing in a series of different and varied challenges that allow them to gather points towards a qualifier for the second round and then add more in that round so that the top two can compete in the final. This allows players to gather points in different ways and tell their own stories.
